I was having a conversation with a friend recently, and he asked me why I shared the images I created online. It was a good question that really got me thinking.
Most of the time, I create images for posts or articles I write. Anyone who has used Midjourney (my favorite tool) knows that you go through many iterations to get the picture you want. With each iteration, new images are created that will not be used for your specific need at the moment. That doesn’t mean that those images aren’t exciting or great-looking.
It seems such a waste just to let those lovely images lay unused. When not pressed for time, I save the best ones for future use. Separate them into a nice little folder for a rainy day when I need them. That need, however, might never come.
In December, I decided to create an “Image of the Day” section in this newsletter. This way, I could share some of the “extra” images I create. Of course, one image a day doesn’t come close to being enough to keep up with my daily image creation.

This is especially true now that I’ve taken up ai-assisted image creation as a form of therapy. I find that choosing a random direction and following where the trail leads oddly relaxing. When you don’t have a particular goal in creating the image, you can just keep branching out and have fun with what Midjourney comes up with.
If I am to be honest with myself, not to mention with you, I probably have to admit that I like it when other people comment on the images I create. I believe every creator, with or without the benefit of AI assistants, enjoys it when other people appreciate their creations.
Would it be too self-serving for me to say that I share the images because it benefits everyone? Those who like the image can get them and use them as they please. I get to put the images I create in front of others who might or might not like them, satisfying the itch of putting my work out there.
If you are not here for the tech or the business aspects of The Creative Cyborg, I hope you found this text because you saw one of my images out there and were intrigued enough to come and have a look around. If that is the case or not, welcome to this little corner of the Internet where we discuss how technology can be used to enhance a person’s creative capabilities instead of replacing them.
